Um... I've definitely had the confectioner’s sugar question not more than a week ago...
An overweight, mullet sport'in, purple striped cut-off T-shirt wearing, self proclaimed "health nut" mother of 6, at Sunflower Market told me that confectioner’s sugar was a calorie free sweetener that I could substitute for healthier baking... she recommended that I try it... (I was slightly offended given the circumstances) but alas I latter Googled it and discovered that my inclinations were in fact correct... convectioner's and powdered are in fact one and the same....

PS. Erin... YOUR COOKIES WERE AMAZING THANK YOU ALWAYS!

Susan! Yes confectioner's sugar is the same as powdered sugar. And unsweetened Dutch process cocoa is the same as unsweetened cocoa powder. I think about these kinds of things a lot too. For the longest time I couldn't figure out the difference between chickpeas and garbanzo beans. They are in fact the same thing as well.

Okay I have two really dumb questions for you...

confectioner's sugar - is there a difference between that and powdered sugar?

and unsweetened Dutch process cocoa - is that just a fancy way of saying unsweetened cocoa powder?

Sorry... my grocery store is really lame so I have to substitute ingredients sometimes!

Can't wait to try these out!
